Planning Your Pool Construction Or Renovation Project

Every swimming pool project is unique and has its own challenges. Below we’ve listed some items to consider when planning your swimming pool construction project.
Permits
When planing to build a swimming pool permuting is an important part of the process. This can be a lengthy process if not done right. As a homeowner you help by doing some homework ahead of time. Update your survey of your property, know where the septic tank is if you have one, locate any wetlands and have your property plans available. There are several permitting variables that can effect the location of your pool, but we as professional pool builders can help you through this process before we begin to design the pool.
Cast your vision
For many a pool is more then just a place to swim, it is an accent to the home and a refuge. Once you have begun the initial research you will want to cast a vision for what you want the pool and the surrounding areas to look like when all is said and done. You’ll want to consider the shape of the pool, what type of landscaping will surround the pool, what type of decking you wish to have – amongst other things. Consider putting together a ‘Dream Book’ where you keep pictures of pools that you like and other ideas that you would like to implement around your project. The more you can help provide visual examples of your ideal pool to the designer, the better the end result.
Prepare the grounds
Before the project begins there are several pre-construction items that need to be done. A surveyor should stake out the property boundaries, there should an access route/plan for bringing in and out equipment and materials. Is there a need to get permission from your HOA or other interested parties. A plan should be put into place for any landscape preservation, transplanting small trees, shrubs and other plants.
